“As the homeschooling movement matures, we would expect to find that homeschool graduates would write books about their experiences and certainly there are several “homeschool” biographies from young homeschool graduates. Obviously, they all have their unique perspective of the writer’s particular experiences. There are many things that make “The Life and Thoughts of a Home School Graduate” unique, but perhaps the most interesting is that the author, Felicia Alvarez, relates her story from being raised in an Hispanic family in California. Homeschool families in general are in the minority ( 2-3% of children taught at home), but even more unique is being a minority in a minority movement. Felicia Alvarez is an outstanding young Christian woman, obviously reflecting the upbringing of an exemplary Christian home. Felicia handles all of the issues that you will, or are experiencing in your homeschool. She addresses these issues from the perspective of the child, which is invaluable to parents that are homeschooling and to those that are contemplating homeschooling in the future. Especially, helpful for parents shepherding children through childhood and the teenage years is the issue of peer pressure and the additional pressure that comes to children that are being homeschooled because of being so different. Felicia provides invaluable suggestions on how this can be successfully addressed with confidence and self-assurance being the fruit of young person’s homeschooling experience. I recommend this book for everyone.”

“Those who would like a peek into home schooling from a student’s viewpoint will enjoy reading this fine book by Felicia Alvarez. With warmth and humor she takes the reader with her through the ups and downs of her own homeschool journey. Her transparency is inspiring as she shares both her struggles and her victories.”
